Penn State, State College, and the surrounding area of centre county, PA will be covered in my blog. Your issues are our problems here, because your voice needs to be heard. I'm willing to hear your thoughts on what's wrong, what can be changed, or just to vent about State College's issues in general.

Win number 409!
So I didn't get a chance to go to the game, but I was able to watch most of it. I kind of wished that I didn't watch the game the whole way through, because it was really ugly. For 58 minutes Penn State couldn't do anything right, but in those last two minutes Penn State showed up and won it for Joe Pa. McGloin's first good pass was in that final drive to an injured Moye and 80 yards later at the end of the game Penn State got the game winning touchdown. The place was going crazy and wouldn't you know it Penn State has a perfect record in the Big Ten. I only wish I could have been there when the crowd went crazy. I would've been going wild right along with them. WE ARE PENN STATE!

Look both ways?
I really do hate driving downtown sometimes. These students don't pay attention to oncoming traffic or they're usually wearing headphones. Even if they're paying attention they're complete jerks about crossing, especially when alcohol is involved. A prime example is a student who just got hit downtown recently, because you guessed it, he wasn't paying attention.

Penn State vs. Illinois
This weekend might be the first time where I don't have to work, and I might be able to finally go to a game. I haven't been able to all season and it's starting to get to me. Every Saturday I've been listening to the games over the radio. I guess this is okay, but I'm finally getting really pumped up for a potentially awesome weekend. Tailgates, Football, and Nittany Lions, oh my, I'm excited and maybe this video will get you pumped up too.

Guest Blogger: Will Heckman on Johnny Au's blog State College Issues
I enjoy following Johnny's blog because being a State College resident, I have a lot of issues LOL. It's nice to read about issues that are relevant to what is going on in our town. I also find the posts about Penn State football and our coaching situations very fascinating. I will most definitely continue to follow this blog due to the new perspectives on the always changing issues that occur in Penn State. I am an avid Penn State enthusiast that follows what's going on with their teams and the program as well. I have very strong views on our current coaching situation, and find it entertaining to hear someone different speak on their thoughts. So in other words I praise this blog and enjoy it very much.

An offense revived!
Penn State finally started a quarterback full time, and it turned out to be a great move. McGloin stepped out on to the field and threw a bomb on their first possession for a touch down and they never looked back, Offensively that is. They did finally get their offense going, but their defense looked pretty shaky in the first half, giving up 24 points. The good news is that they were leading at the half 27-24, but they needed a last minute touchdown in the first half to do so. In any case it was great to see Penn State finally break out offensively, and keep your fingers crossed. They're leading their division in the Big Ten at 5-0.

A Close Call?
I just want to give some positive aspects of the last game against Purdue, because I haven't bee too positive about this season. Penn State had this game under control throughout the entire game. They did get off to a slow start with Boldin, but that's expected. When the game gets into the fourth quarter Penn State had a 20-12 lead and they were driving with McGloin. Penn State was really about to put the game out of reach on the Purdue 23 when McGloin got intercepeted on a freak play in the endzone and Purdue runs the ball back to Penn State territory. This was an unimaginable interception off the foot of the Purdue player that should have never happened. Ultimately Penn State would win 23-18, which made the game very close at the end, but this should have never been the case. If this play doesn't happen Penn State easily wins by at least two scores. I just want to ensure all Penn State fans that they will go into Northwestern with a chip on their shoulder and they will come out of there with a win.

Penn State on top
Well it hasn't been too pretty, but Penn State is leading the Big Ten after their win against Purdue this weekend. With a 3-0 record they're leading Wisconsin in the Leaders division, but it's no picnic from hear on out. They go to Northwestern this week, but after that the finish out playing ranked opponents. We'll see how long this lead holds up, and I myself would like to stay on the side of optimism, but realistically I'm planning for the worst. My prediction is that they'll lose two more games this year, but we'll see when we get there.

Is Paterno Staying?
JoePa is Penn State and he's is what makes this football program what it is. So when people say that Joe should go when they do bad they need to rethink what he's done for Penn State. People love to hop on the "get rid of Joe" bandwagon as soon as they have a sub-par season, but love him when they do good. It's an annoying double-standard that needs to stop. He's here to stay and I'm proud to have a legend like JoePa still with Penn State. Your good to stay in my book Joe.

It's a college life
This town has been drinking itself silly for decades now. Penn State has been know as one of the largest party schools in the nation. This may sound cool to college students, and some fresh out of high school students looking for a party, but it looks bad for State College and the University. Penn State's whole idea of success with honor is being tarnished by students and people downtown during the week getting wasted. Just this week a young female was cited for public intoxication and disturbing the peace, because she was shedding vomit-soaked clothes on beaver ave. downtown. Some people need to learn their limits or just don't drink at all, it's getting very old people.
A quality win?
Penn State finally gets a win over a quality opponent, but was it a quality win. Penn State still has these offensive issues, and if it wasn't for the defense, I'm not sure Penn State would've won two games this year. I know they're 5-1, but they easily could be 1-5 with a deadly schedule coming up. So lets work on this offensive line this week with one QB that they're going to start outright. These next few weeks are really going to determine what kind of a season it's going to be for Penn State. I hope for the best, but don't expect to many more wins from this Penn State team.
