Closing the dollar theater!
I know this happened a couple of months ago, but I'm still disappointed about the closing of the dollar theater. I'm must have went to a movie the last week it was open and not even realize it, because about two weeks later someone was talking about it. This was the last cheap way of enjoying a movie or just going out for a good time. I would always wait for a movie to come out to the dollar theater, instead of spending 10 bucks for to watch a movie I might not even like. So this is my tribute to the dollar theater, thanks for being here and you will be missed.

I agree, The dollar theater was a nice convenience, especially for those who have children. I think that they realized that they weren't making any money. They were charging a dollar per person to watch movies then they would up the prices on popcorn and beverages to make up for it. But, overall the dollar theater was a good idea, and it will be missed...
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything said here. I heard that the lease was up and there was going to be an increase in rent and the owner decided it wasnt worth to keep open. I know i had stopped going to the regular movies also. I think everyone who appreciates a great bargin will miss the dollar theater.
ReplyDeleteLoved this blog! There's nothing worse than paying full-price at College 9 or Premiere Theatre to see a movie then walk out to realize it wasn't worth it or you could have seen another movie that caught your eye. At least when you go there and if the movie wasn't that great, who cares? It's just $1.00. Not only is it a dollar for the movie but on Tuesday evenings they have a deal where you can purchase a small drink for a dollar and a small popcorn for a dollar as well. All other items sold there were full-priced. But really thats all you need when you go to a watch a movie is to have your popcorn and drink! Great inexpensive way to enjoy a date night with your boyfriend at the cost of $6.00! Right Johnny? Ha, you and I would go at least once a week for our date night on Tuesday nights for months at a time. I think you could've mentioned that in your blog darling, HA. just kidddinggg, but seriously Dollar Theatre... RIP, you will be missed.
